Gilded decor has long been a sign of luxury and is now creeping back into the collective conscience of American designers, in line with economic indications of an improving US economy.

Handmade with golden metallic shards, Nathan Turner's glasses are an ode to craftsmanship, while Up In The Air Somewhere's papier mâché and gold-leaf foil bowl is an example in subtle luxury, using recyclable materials to create something shiny and new.
